About Good Boy Olly
Hi, I'm Olly
If you're here, chances are you love your dog but something isn't quite working the way you'd hoped.
Whether it's pulling on the leash, barking at other dogs, struggling with anxiety, or just feeling like nothing you try is sticking — I want you to know that's not a reflection of you or your dog. It just means you haven't yet had the right support.
That's where I come in.
I come to you — training in your home, your street, your local park, wherever the real challenges are happening. Every session is tailored to your dog, your lifestyle and your pace. And I stay with you every step of the way, not just during sessions but in between them too.
MY STORY
My journey with dogs
My relationship with dogs goes back more than 20 years, and it began somewhere most people wouldn't expect — India.
I spent many years there working with stray and injured dogs, helping them heal, rehabilitate and find loving homes. Working closely with Blue Cross and several independent shelters shaped everything about how I understand and care for animals today. I learned that dogs don't need to be dominated or forced — they need to be understood.
Although my academic background is in Psychology and Human Resource Management, my true calling has always been helping animals and the people who love them. In 2022 I brought that passion home and created Good Boy Olly — a training practice built on compassion, clear communication and modern behavioural science.
To make sure I'm always providing the highest standard of support, I hold a Certificate III in Companion Animal Studies and a Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour and Training. I'm also a certified Fear Free professional, an approved Easy Peasy Puppy Instructor, and a proud member of the APDT and IMDT Australia.
Learning never stops for me. I regularly undertake specialist training — including sniffer dog work with The Doggy Lady, mantrailing with the College of Scent Dogs, the Advanced Skills Safari with Ken Ramirez, and the Canine Aggression Course with IMDT Australia. The more I learn, the better I can help you and your dog.
MY APPROACH
How I train
I use positive reinforcement — not as a trend, but because the science is clear. Dogs learn best when they feel safe, when learning is rewarding, and when communication is consistent.
I don't use punishment, dominance-based methods or quick fixes. Instead I help you understand how your dog thinks and feels, so you can build a relationship based on trust rather than fear.
Training with me isn't just about teaching your dog to sit or walk nicely — though we'll absolutely work on those things. It's about helping you and your dog understand each other, so that life together feels calmer, more enjoyable and genuinely rewarding for both of you.
Whether you're in Perth and want in-person sessions, or you're anywhere in the world and prefer online coaching, I'd love to help.
Compassion — for every dog, regardless of breed, age or history, and for every owner who is doing their best.
Communication — because understanding is the foundation of every great relationship, between people and their dogs.
Continuous learning — because the science of animal behaviour keeps evolving, and so do I.
Kindness — always. No exceptions.
