What
Behaviour is how a person or animal acts and what they do to make something happen, change or stay the same.
Behaviour is a response to events, such as Internal thoughts and feelings and or the external environment, including stimuli like Smell, sounds, sights, touch (feel), and taste. Observing behaviour is the easy part. Understanding what causes the behaviour is much more complicated. (NSW Gov)
Types of behaviour
Adaptive behaviour:
Behaviour exists to serve a purpose. If the behaviour does not fulfil the individual's need, it would not exist. For example, a dog who is unsure of the person at the door may bark. This barking may serve to alert the members of the home, to scare away a threat, or as a release for excitement. In all those situations, if the members are alerted, or the perceived threat is gone, or there is no more excitement, the barking should stop.
